Greece And The Greek Islands Travelcade
Our Travelcade group going to Greece and the Greek Islands in mid May 2009 is growing in numbers. Have you signed up yet? Hopefully you have read our three previous articles that explain the events and areas we will visit. If not, please bring them up on your computer, on the Club web site, under the Travelcade bar, as we will not repeat what is in these articles.
As we mentioned, the exact dates and prices for 2009 will not be available until spring of 2008, but we do have information for their 2008 trips, so we will share that information with you now. We again are using Vantage Deluxe World Travel, as they have given us such superior trips in the past. In 2008 the 15 day trip during May begins with a cost of $4900, which includes free air fare from five east coast cities. The actual cost of your trip will be determined by the cabin you select for the 7 nights we are aboard our sailing ship, and your point of departure. All cabins are on the outside of the ship. The Standard cabin on the lower deck is priced at $4915, which is your cost for the entire trip. This cabin has a porthole and the room is approx. 130 sq. ft. There are only 4 of these rooms available. The next class is also on the lower deck with a window, priced at $5215. There are only 8 of these rooms available. Should you select the middle deck, outside room with a window, the price is $5515. The entire ship only has 25 cabins, so the lower priced cabins will go fast. There are cabins on the ship for Singles, so if that is your option, it is available. Phone us for quotes.
You MUST book your trip soon. When the 2009 prices become available, the ship will fill within a few days.
We probably will be in our cabins only to sleep, as there will be lots of activities going on while we are cruising the tranquil, smooth Aegean Sea. We will have daily ports of call to tour all the wonderfully, interesting Greek Islands, and Ephesus (Kusadasi) Turkey. Our cultural connections include Greek language and cooking lessons, two folkloric and musical performances on the ship and two lectures on Turkish and Greek living. We have selected a May date as the weather should be in the mid 70s at that time.
This 15 day trip begins with a week of touring in Greece, and is then followed by the 7 night island cruise. Our final night is back in Athens, Greece; or you can elect to extend your stay with us and fly to Crete for 4 additional days of touring. This extension costs $899 per person.
As you can tell, we are really excited about this upcoming travelcade, but space is VERY limited and the cabins will be booked quickly. Please let us know if you even think you may be interested, so we can let you know as soon as we are informed about the 2009 dates and prices. Typically the prices go up each year, especially with fuel price increases, but they are minimal increases. Don't snooze and lose your spot on this wonderful adventure.
