Special Interest Groups & Group Activities
Many members of the Fleetwood Travelcade Club have common interests. These members come together in groups for fellowship, to share their common interests, to help each other and members of the Club, and to share information.
Read about each Group and join if your interests are the same. To start a new Special Interest Group, contact your representative on the Board of Governors.
For those who are not members of the Fleetwood Travelcade Club, complete an application and select an interest group.

Fleetwood Computer Club members are experienced in many levels of computer operations. While some members have just started using computers, others have used computers for several years and are experienced in all facets including programming. By attending the Computer Club meetings at Rendezvous or Unit functions a wealth of knowledge can be gained. Whether you need help with word processing, spreadsheets, or any other program, help is readily available. If you are new to computing, or have never used a computer, do not let this hold you back. There are many who would be eager to provide you with assistance, answer your questions and get you started using this great tool.
The great number of programs available today can assist your everyday needs, from Money programs including tax preparation programs, which allows you to balance your check book, pay bills, and tracks all tax deductible items for your tax forms. Included are photo and travel programs.
If you have never “surfed” the web there are answers to any question you might have. Online booking of flights and hotels provide you with the best fares or prices. Many items may be purchased over the web. Some of these items, when purchased out of state, are tax-free; however, shipping charges are most often required. For the households that have many users and are forced to wait your turn for the phone connection try DSL. This broad band type of connection provides rapid down load of information while allowing many users to be “online” at the same time, and still allowing incoming and outgoing telephone service. If you have Children or Grand Children looking for scholarships, there are several web sites available.

The Fleetwood Ham Radio Club is open to all members of the Fleetwood Travelcade Club whether they are licensed amateurs or not. The Club regularly meets at each rendezvous and has a president, secretary & treasurer. Dues at present are $2.00 per member for life and no change in dues is foreseen in the future.
The purpose of the Club is to provide fellowship, information and discussion of radio related topics at meetings and to provide talk-in assistance to Fleetwood Travelcade Club members as they approach a rendezvous site.
Volunteers position themselves at appropriate locations to observe and direct incoming rigs either on a two-meter frequency or CB radio. The regular club two meter frequency is 146.460 simplex. The regular CB channel used by the Club is channel 3.
Periodically, members volunteer to instruct and assist non-hams in preparation for their technician class license test. Some members are also volunteer examiners (VE’s) and are authorized to administer the tests required to become hams.
For many years the Radio Club Net has been up and running for regular check-ins. This is a HF net on 14.307.5 MHz on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3 PM Central Time. Those holding a general class or above have privileges on this frequency.
Due to the death of Dusty, the net running same time and frequency. We are looking for a new permanent net control person., If conditions warrant, another ham volunteers to run the net. It is an easy way for members to keep in touch and keep abreast of the health and welfare of friends.

We are not forming a chapter, we are just having fun with it.
Hope you can join us at the Fleetwood Travelcade Club Rendezvous.
It will be so much fun!! Especially, to see the different hats and how they are done.

The Security at Rendezvous is handled by the Security Group. They control emergency phone contact with police and medical services as their main duties. They also regulate traffic through the parking area when needed.
Security also handles any lost & found in conjunction with others.
The group usually has a meeting sometime during each Rendezvous. All are welcome to join the Security Group with current dues at a one time fee of $2.00. Those working at the Rendezvous usually draw for several door prizes.

We are a special interest group of the Fleetwood Travelcade Club. This group refers to the old Silver Classics which consist of Avion and Cayo travel trailers, motorhomes and slide-in campers with riveted aluminum skin.
The purpose of this group is fellowship and the sharing of information about repairs, restoration & updates to our Classics while attending Rendezvous.
Since we are a special interest group of the Fleetwood Travelcade Club, we have access to this website as well as having articles published in the Club's newsletter, The Fleetwood Flyer. There are no membership fees or formal list of members. Anyone attending the Silver gathering at a Rendezvous is a member. Anyone interested in the silvers is invited to participate.
At the organizational Rendezvous in Las Cruces, NM, there were 36 silver trailers, 2 Avion motorhomes & 2 slide-in campers.
At the Rendezvous in Columbia, MO in 2008 there were 33 silvers present out of 102 rigs, so you can see we are still a very active part of the Club.
