2009 Spring/Winter Rendezvous and Annual Meeting
The Winter Rendezvous is official. Our contract with Bethpage Camp Resort is signed.
Virginia, centrally located on the east coast, is a state with many Revolution and Civil War Battlegrounds. A history buffs wonderland. Songs and magazine articles have and are written about the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley.
The National Association Parks and Campgrounds awarded Bethpage Camp Resort the National Park Award for the year 2005 -2006 and Woodall's Campground Directory gives Bethpage a Five Star rating.
The Resort offers many amenities: waterfront, open-end shielded pull thrus, paved sites, 50 amp service, wireless Internet service, cable TV, splash pool, fresh and saltwater swimming with sandy beaches, clean modern laundry and comfort stations, camp tours, hayrides, golf carts and bike rentals fresh and saltwater fishing, and LP gas.
Bethpage is located on the Rappahannoch River, which empties into Chesapeake Bay, 55 miles from Richmond, 60 miles from Norfolk, 40 miles from Williamsburg, 125 miles from Washington DC, and 165 miles from Baltimore. Chesapeake Bay is an area of adventure, history and excitement. Travelcades can visit Yorktown, Jamestown and Busch Gardens. There will be ample time to take a one hour cruise on the Rappahannoch River aboard the 48 foot Bethpager. This 44 passenger boat was originally built as a workboat to ply the Bay for crabs and oyster. For the more nautically inclined there are five hour cruises on the Rappahanoch River. The Tangier Island and the Fredericksburg are a short distance from the Resort.
Well, if history and cruises are not to your liking, we'll let Bethpage help round out your stay. There is fresh and saltwater fishing, pools and lakes for swimming, miniature golf for the putters, great golf courses for the duffer, a shopping mall and many restaurants all on site or nearby.
Their is plenty of time to plan for this Winter Rendezvous. Put your play money aside for this 6 day vacation. Join your friends and share your RV adventures.
The arrival date for the Rendezvous is April 29, 2009 and the departure date is May 4, 2009. Those choosing to arrive early will be charged the same as the Rendezvous rate. This rate is for only 3 early days. Late departures will be charged the regular season rated based on availability.
