If you have not sent in your reservations for the Arizona Unit’s spring rally in Camp Verde AZ, please do so as reservations need to be confirmed with the Camp Ground.
For those “Hams” check into the Echolink net on Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7 pm Mountain Standard time.
Welcome new Fleetwood Travelcade Club AZ Unit members Jay & Susan Engroff and Frank & Kathryn Richmond. We look forward to meeting you at one of the AZ Luncheon functions or at our Spring Rally in Camp Verde AZ.
If you are planning a trip to the Southwest part of the state this season, now is the time to view the spring wild flowers. Our rain this past month came at an ideal time to make this once in decades time to view the area in its glorious splendor. The Mexican Poppies, in several colorful versions, are coloring the hills with spectacular color. Not to be out done the Lupine has put on there own show of azure blue splashes. Later this month the cacti will start blooming, first the whites then the yellows followed quickly by the red and scarlet blooms. The Saguaro blooms, the states flower, start first on the east facing side of the plant with the remaining sides following closely thereafter. While you are in the Southern part of the State be sure to visit the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Plan your trip early in the day as most of the animals (critters) are alert at this time of the day.
April Critter Report:
Many of our winged friends have returned and are busy with nest building. Peter C. Tail brought his family to inspect newly sprouting veggies. Other critters are slow at reappearing this season.

I'm sure everyone is like we are, tired of this long Winter. Here it is the middle of March and just now getting warmer. It seems that Spring is knocking on the door the last four or five days. With all the rain we may be floating before long. Soon it will be hot and we will fuss about that. By the time you read this, the Arkansas, Oklahoma and Happy Trails Spring Rally will be a fun time to remember. As of now we have twenty four units registered for the Rally. We are looking forward to getting the trailer on the road. We are probably in the same boat as everyone else, with the current oil future and fuel prices. It looks like we won't be taking any long trips this year. We are really looking forward to seeing all our friends and having a great time at the Winter Rendezvous Columbia, MO.
Have safe travels,
Jerry & Peggy Keeter

The Inland Empire Lunch group met on the second Saturday in March as usual with six present, the Chivas’, Huberts and Davises. The Davises were on their way to the San Fernando Valley to welcome their newest Great-Grandchild and received the phone call at lunch that “she” had arrived. This began a lively and funny conversation about babies and grandchildren.
It seems that no one could make the planned campout the first weekend in April but the idea has not died. Some still want to go some weekend in May and emails will be going out to all members in Southern California with information.
The CA Unit is preparing for the Spring Rally to be held in Calistoga (Napa Valley) on May 30-June 3. Registration forms have been mailed, and completed forms are starting to be received. They are due by March 31, as we are going to the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, MO, and all reservations must be completed before we leave. We are hoping for a good crowd. There will be a luncheon with a wine tour and tasting, a demonstration at the Culinary Institute of America West Coast location, opportunities for a hot air balloon ride, golf, spa treatments, and more. Make your reservations today. Space is limited to 20 rigs. Let us know if you didn’t receive your registration packet by email at ksexton24@comcast.net.
We hope to see many familiar faces for “Kick up Your Heels in Missouri” in Columbia, MO April 22-28.

The Florida unit was kind of quiet this month. Currently the Stallings are at THE RALLY in Perry GA. It used to be the Great American RV Rally. There are about 3,000 rigs here now and more coming. So far we have run into Bob Lee three times and he swears his wife is here somewhere. How can anyone tell? Also here are Dave & Pam Cox, Tom & Jeannie Russell in their almost new Class A by some other brand, Bill & Chris Catron and new members Charlie & Jenova Hoelscher and prospective new members Bob & Judy Stewart.
We have seen bunches of Fleetwood products but most are not Fleetwood Travelcade Club members. Last night we saw the Vogues from the 60’s. They were very good and tonight Bobby Vinton put on an outstanding show. He was on for almost an hour and a half singing many of his hit songs. He also plays a number of instruments and plays all very well. His Daughter and Son are also in the show.

As I write this, it is raining and we in Georgia are so grateful. We are trying to make up for the hour of sleep we lost and looking forward to Spring.
Bill & Shirley McNaney left March 14 for a Mission trip to the Bahamas. They do a trip to some depressed area almost every year with a group of college students from Savannah.
Everett & Zelda Nolan have been traveling. They spent time in Arkansas, Dallas, TX and two weeks in Mazatlan, Mexico with Everett’s sister. They plan to spend some time at Avion Palms soon. They will celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary March 24.
Dick & Gail Addison are looking forward to visiting their grand daughter Sarah in Statesboro, while attending the Georgia Spring Rally.
Bobby & Carrie Shepard hope to make the Rendezvous in April.
The last time we heard from Phil & Francene Fretwell they were in Japan. At that time they had been to Australia, Iwo Jima and South America. They should be back home in late April.
Tom & I were married 53 years on March 5. That’s a long time!
I wish you all a Happy Easter. May we all remember what Easter represents.
“Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly”
See you in Columbia,

By now most of our Fleetwood friends should be safely back home after a warm winter in the south. We were the lucky ones as we missed out on a horrendous winter.
The Hesses from the Iowa Unit surprised us at the Florida Unit luncheon. As Terry needed to see a dermatologist who was recommended by Pat Bradford, they decided to spend some time with us at Tiki Village for a couple of weeks. They seemed to enjoy our RV Park and all the fun activities. We played lots of JOKER and we won’t tell anyone; but the guys won overall. We made a trip to Avion Palms where we visited with Shirley & Bruce Wells. We had a good visit with them and other past Fleetwood members. We also were able to get together with our Kentucky friends Louise & Lloyd (Smitty) Smith. More Joker!
The Weithorns will be catching up with the Vicenzis in Navarre (Northern Florida) for a few days and then heading home to Southern Illinois together. Hope to see them at one of our buddy rallies this summer.
Wayne & Ellen Spencer are in the process of mailing out information on the Buddy Rally in New Salem State Park May 13-15. Let’s all come and enjoy the fun, food and fellowship that Fleetwooders are known for.
Our schedule for this year:
Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri April 22-29.
Buddy Rally at New Salem May 13-15.
Round up at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa June 2- 4
Buddy Rally at Starved Rock State Park, August 2-4.
Our state meeting will be in September, TBA
Look forward to seeing everyone in Columbia, Missouri.

The North Central Region Roundup is scheduled for August 19-24th at the Elkhart Campground in Elkhart, Indiana. I have a tentative schedule planned, and some wonderful tours/activities in the works. Remember that this is a Buddy Rally and open to all, so invite your friends!
Albert & I have been busy this past couple of months. Work has slowed down now and we can take a breath. Like everyone here in Indiana, we can't wait for spring. We purchased a boat, and are wondering when we will get the chance to use it. There's a lot of news this month, so, lets get to it:
Donald Gradeless (#11193) is enjoying the winter in Sebring.
Lou King (#24176) is now a grandfather! On 24 Feb his daughter-in-law gave birth to a 7 lb 15oz girl. Olivia and her mother, Monique, are both at home and doing well. The family is in New Orleans where Eric is in the Navy.
Loretta Fleming (#13476) says they are having some cool weather in FL but she can't complain with the terrible snow storms they are having in Valparaiso and she is thankful she is in FL. She's been playing lots of Bocci ball, Bingo and doing a lot of walking. She also enjoyed a nice visit with John & Rita McCarren.
Vic & Maryln Kerlin (#15173) are in Australia on the Aussie Adventure 2008 Travelcade and will be home late April.
John & Rita McCarren (#17265) have been on the road for the last six weeks. They stopped in to see Bud & Betty Fish in Cocoa Beach. They stayed nine days and really enjoyed their visit with them. Then they traveled to Palmetto, FL and visited with Lewis & Mary Carter. They were happy to see that Lewis was doing so well. They had a lovely dinner with Mary, Lewis and Loretta Fleming. It was great seeing everyone again. As of March 7th they are on their way home.

This is a leap year. With February at an end and March almost over, just think how much closer we are to spring. And since March is here, is everyone getting ready for spring? I know that Don & I are both more than ready for a break in the weather. This has been a long, hard winter here in Michigan. We had almost a record snowfall. For us still here and those coming back from the South to be home for the Easter vacation, bundle up and stay warm as the days are cold even if that sun is shining.
Our Michigan unit would like to welcome new members, Steve & Patty Koshorek, #24604, of Royal Oak, Michigan. I just received this information and our group is happy to have new members.
A new directory should soon be on the website for all members to have their listings of old and new members. It will be available after the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, MO and you can get it on the website or on CD’s that will be available after the rendezvous. There will be no printing or mailing of the directory.
NEWSY NOTES: Klinkers just returned from a cruise with the group staying in Florida. They had such a good time they are leaving again to spend two weeks at St. Maarten with the Kinneys. But Gail will not be using Banana Boat this time as she developed a very bad rash. Florence Titus is enjoying her winter in Florida. Brookshires recently left Florida to head to Texas for a month or so before they head home to Michigan. Joan & Dick Martus spent some time in Florida and are heading back to this cold weather.
Ladies, don’t forget your Easter bonnets for the holiday. Remember to keep your calendars posted and so we will be seeing each other at the Spring Buddy Rally in St. Louis on May 11th.
That’s it until June as there will be no May newsletter.

We are all looking forward to spring!! It has been a long winter for those of us who stayed in Missouri. Many of our members went south, and are beginning to return home now.
We had a good time at our luncheon on Wednesday. It was attended by Gene Blase and Dale, Billy & Barbara Knowlton, Bob & Betty Lewis, Bob & Gerry Lorenz, and Dorothy & Fred Baumhoegger.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri April 22-28, 2008. We promise to have nice weather in April (if the weatherman cooperates).

We would like to extend a hearty welcome to our new members. They are John & Sandy Hawkins from La Grange, NC, Marianella Smith from Lenoir, NC, and Jim & Karyl McClellan of Kannapolis, NC. We met Jim & Karyl at a RV park near Lexington, NC. We look forward to meeting the others at one of our events soon.
We have had good response for our Rally April 9-13 in Natural Bridge, VA. Some members from the Virginia Unit plan to attend as well. We are looking forward to seeing all our Fleetwood friends. There is a lot to do in this area, and everyone should have a great time.
Ron & I will be traveling with Bill & Pam East to the Rendezvous in Missouri. We will then travel from there to the Rocky Mountain Rolling Rally in June. Undine & Willie Lamm will join us in Wyoming. We will be traveling through a lot of areas of the country we have not seen before, so we are really looking forward to this trip. We thank Betty & Harry Peterson for their hard work in planning this event.
If you’re not going to be able to go to Missouri, start making plans now to attend the Fall Rendezvous in San Antonio, TX. There is also a Travelcade being planned for Big Bend following the Rendezvous. Check the Fleetwood Travelcade Club website for details.
Hope to see you on the road soon.

Greetings from Ohio
Well, here we are again digging out of another snow storm!! Snow, cold temperatures, wind, ice; and then we have Sun., warm temperatures, melting snow, and flooding!!
Now snow AGAIN!!
May 6th is the Spring Luncheon in Canton at the Hometown Buffet. May 12-17 is the Ohio Spring Rally at Medina County Fairgrounds.
Remember ladies; S.S.S. Bring your extra yarn, material, embroidery thread, knitting and crochet needles, patterns, and craft items. What you no longer can use might be just what someone else is looking for! This will be a fun afternoon; we can exchange ideas and learn something from each other. SSS
Safe travels to all,

Aloha! That’s what Jerry & Shelby Brown will be saying soon. The Brown’s are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Hawaii the first two weeks of April and when they return their children and extended family are honoring them with an Anniversary Dinner. We know they have been looking forward to this trip for some time and we wish them a great trip and bring us back one of those marvelous pineapples.
Also traveling is Wanda Berry, where she is joining other Fleetwood owners in Tucson, AZ. However we heard there was 6” of snow on the ground in Fort Worth, Texas when Wanda was in there so I’m sure she’ll have some great stories to tell when she returns.
In a few weeks we’ll be joining Fleetwood friends in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a joint Arkansas/Oklahoma rally. The dates are April 10-13 and it sounds like many fun things are being planned. From Hot Springs we’ll head north to the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri where it will be great to see so many friends, again.
On May 14-17 there will be a campout at Natural Falls State Park at West Siloam Springs, OK and the more the merrier. If you can attend the campout contact us at elgincox@cox.net.
We were sorry to hear of the death of Bob Sparks on February 29th. Bob was a longtime member and former Oklahoma Avion president. Our condolences go to Lola and the Sparks family.
The second Monday of the month we meet at the Luby’s Cafeteria at 71st and Riverside Drive and for several months Mary Jo Carruth has been joining us. Mary Jo had a bout with shingles but she is back to good health again and it is a pleasure to have her join us for lunch.
Happy travels to all and see you in Columbia.

Greeting to all our Fleetwood Travelcade Club Friends:
March has been a fun and busy month for those of us who are spending our winter in Yuma. There have been joker games and trips into Mexico. The second Wednesday of the month is our Fleetwood lunch date and we had a good turn out again this month. Those attending from Oregon were Carol & Ed Fox, Russ & Joyce Brower, Tony & Phyllis Anusich, Norma & LaVerne Edwards, Dick & Carol Eckhart and two guests. Also attending were Washington members Ray & Marlise Hanson and Don & Peg Alastra. Guests from a greater distance were Budd & Evelyn Stapley, Cal &Lee Brehm and David & Paula Staib.
We missed Burdell & Mable Ann Borchardt as they are far away leading The Aussie Adventure Travelcade. Roland & Marilyn Vorrath are also on that trip. I am sure they are all having a wonderful time and we will be very anxious to hear all about it when they return.
Polly Hohnbaum reported that the Oregon March luncheon was canceled. Faithful attendees had flu or other problems that kept them away. Hope April is much better for those who usually attend up North.
We hope you all have a wonderful Easter. For those of us lucky enough to be in Yuma, Gerald & Linda Lavy have invited the club friends to their home for Easter dinner. This is getting to be an annual event and we all look forward to their hospitality.
Next month some of our members will be traveling to the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, MO. We wish you safe travels and a very good Rendezvous.
Please remember that our Oregon Fall Rally is in the planning stages. Be sure to mark the dates of September 17-21, on your calendar and we hope you will join us in Salem, Oregon. We will get the details to you in May.
For those of you celebrating Birthdays or Anniversaries, we wish you all the very best.
Goodbye for now,
Norma

Bob & I just saw a big flock of birds heading north. At our park, one by one they are saying their good byes and headed North and difference places. It is a little sad because each year some of them do not return due to various reasons. We seem to be like a winter family. Bob & I are headed to New Jersey by the way of Columbia, Missouri for the Winter Rendezvous, just a side detour. It will be nice to see friends that we have made on Travelcades, Rendezvous’ and our PA Buddy Rallies.
The last time we spoke with Jim & Beryl Eichlin and Phil & Pat Tuttle they were going to the Columbia, Missouri Rendezvous also. Last month Bob & Ruth Skrable went to their grand daughters wedding at Disney in FL. It must have been a beautiful wedding because Disney does things up right (congratulations to the newly weds).
We communicated with Jane & Billy Ray Turner about the May Spring Buddy Rally and they have a lot of things planned. By now the PA Unit people should have received the information by e-mail or regular mail. So if you haven’t used your RV over the winter, think about dusting it off and come join us. Please make your reservations with the Turners by the 15th of April.
The rally will be held May 14-18 at Mountain Creek Campground, Gardners, PA. Jane & Billy Ray Turner; 1046 Rockledge Dr., Carlisle, PA 17013-9127, (717) 448-0589, or e-mail them at BilJanTur@aol.com. Wagon masters are Jane & Billy Ray Turner and Wayne & Bertha Bowers co-hosting.
Pennsylvania Fall Rally September 3-7th at Sea Pirates Family Camping Resort, West Creek, N.J. Wagon masters are Bob & Ruth Skrable, so please mark your 2008 calendars for both rallies.
Peace be with you all, and Safe Travels,
Mae

Easter and Spring Greetings to all of you. We hope you are thawing out from the long, chilly winter and looking forward to doing some traveling soon with your rigs. Bob & Clara Lee are on the move, planning on spending two months on the road. They first had new axles and a new More Ryde suspension put on their 5th wheel to try to improve their suspension that was destroying their new tires. They are currently along the Gulf Coast heading to the Great American Rally in Georgia, and then they will be heading for the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, MO. Along the way they will take in a family reunion in the Washington D.C. area. Clara is putting together another family reunion the end of September that will take their family back to the small villages in Southern China from where their family members originated.
Knute Cotton is continuing to stay busy with his Prison Ministry. He recently delivered a Baptistery (a large plastic tub) that was donated and needed in a prison in Florence, AZ, near Phoenix. That involved a 700 mile trip each way, thus taking four days of travel. What a way to use those big pickups we usually use to pull our rigs.
We want to thank our own Mike Jones of CO for his willingness in taking over the Web Site for our Club. We also want to say a big Thank You to Tom Johnson of GA for all the wonderful work he has done as Web Master of our Fleetwood Travelcade Club site.
Harry & Betty Peterson recently returned from a weeks stay in a time-share on the Dutch Island of St. Maartin in the Caribbean. They enjoyed beach walks, snorkeling and exploring the culture of the Dutch and French who live on the island. They will soon be leaving Cape Canaveral, FL where they were camped near their daughter's family, heading west along the Gulf Coast on their way to Arizona. Here they will pick up Harry's brother-in-law and his wife for a 12 day stay in Hawaii where the four of them will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries together.
We want to remind every one of our RM Unit Spring Buddy Rolling Rally that will begin in Cody, WY on June 14th, rolling on to West Yellowstone, then Ennis and Helena, MT, staying in each location for 3-4 days. There is still room for more, but you must register ASAP as the resort RV parks are filling rapidly. Call us at 321-432-9038 and we will explain the process of registering or look at the February Fleetwood Flyer for more details
Hugs and safe traveling to all of you. Remember it is the journey along the way that is as important as the destination at the end of the road.

Here goes for what may be my shortest newsletter ever. I haven't heard from the members so I can't tell you what they are doing. As this is written, Harry & I are preparing to leave, “sometimes”, sunny FL for home (3/15). It only takes us two days so we'll be home to celebrate St. Patrick's Day (ha-ha!) Several of our members from 2007 have not renewed so our unit has decreased in size. Robert & Susan Sharpe sent me their unit dues recently so the count is not as bad as it was last month. Maybe we'll get more after we get home.
Just another reminder of our Spring Rally, May 22-24, early birds 5/21 or as early as 5/18 if you'd prefer. Just tell the hosts that you're with the Fleetwood Travelcade Club. We hope to have a couple of fun things to do and some places to go but come to just relax with friends for a few days if you like. The rally will be held at Palmetto Cove, Cleveland, SC. We'll send notices out after we get home and settled in so that members, associates and buddies will have good directions. If you're just coming through give us a call to find out how to get there (864) 848-9686 home or (864) 346-4291 cell. We'd love to have a big crowd as the park will hold about 100 w/full hook-ups.
Remember: Winter Rendezvous, Columbia, MO 4/22-28. Get registered and come along with us.
Till next time Safe Travels!

Hope everyone is getting ready to go to Columbia, MO for the Winter Rendezvous. The TN Rally will be held while we are there.
Andy & Loretta Anderson are back in Chapel Hill, TN from FL. Terry & Marilyn Penn are back in TN from Gulf Shores, AL and he is busy trying to get the jacks working on his 5th wheel so they can go to Columbia for the rendezvous. Pam & Moe Johnson spent the winter in TN. Mabel & Jim McIntosh are still at Avion Palms in FL and will be going back to TN the first of April. Joe & Nancy Dorrance are back in TN after attending several Rallies at Lazy Days in FL. They are busy putting together an April Rally at Tunica, MS for the Mid-South Roadrunners.

HEART O TEXAS
The monthly meeting of the Heart O Texas group was held on Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Oxford Street Restaurant in Bryan. Present were the Drums, Roberts, Brennans and Rouners. Donations were accepted for the service dog program.
*A rather brisk discussion was held concerning the apparent disarray of dues collection and membership cards. It seems that some individuals are opting not to join the Fleetwood Travelcade Club at a cost of $35 and instead are joining just the Texas group at a cost of $4. We don't know if this is the case with other groups. According to Jerry Drum and Lee Roberts, past International Presidents of the FTC, one must join the FTC before becoming a member of any regional group. Also, the "buddy" invitations to attend statewide functions such as the upcoming rally in Sanger were discussed. A gourmet lunch kept the nerves quiet and the blood pressure within acceptable levels. More discussion is planned.
The next monthly meeting of the Heart O Texas group will be on Friday, March 28, 2008 again at the Oxford Street Restaurant at 11:30am. There are no anniversaries or birthdays to report from this group until April.
See y'all in Sanger, TX and Columbia, MO.

The North End Lunch Bunch of the Washington Unit met at the Golden Corral as usual and in spite of the rain there was a great turn out.
Those who came through the rain were Tom & Marnie Opstad, Beth & George MacKay, Larry & Marge Raymond, Norm & Norma Anderson, Chuck & Inez Michaels, Jim & Fran Reed and Ken & Carolyn Abramson. We missed Trish and Harry & Susan. Hopefully they will be there next month.
The discussion was about the upcoming travels. The Opstads and the Abramsons are going to the Winter Rendezvous in MO. Fran is excited about her cruise as are Tom & Marnie. There are two different cruises with lots of adventures expected. Of course people are talking about Burnaby. There are 56 registered so far and I am certainly hoping there will be lots more "Butts In Burnaby". Bring a buddy if you can.
When Ken & I went across the border to go to the luncheon the border crossing agent asked us where we were going. When Ken told her that we were going to lunch in Marysville she couldn't believe it. She asked "Is it a good lunch?" I guess it is hard to believe that anyone would drive that far for lunch. She doesn't know that it is not the food alone but it is the "Fun Food and Fellowship "that is the attraction. I can just see the look on her face when we cross the border next week and tell her we are going to Federal Way for lunch. We are hoping we get a different agent :-)
Fran & Jim are very proud of their astronaut relative and they were anxious for a first hand report on the mission.
Tom is still driving the school bus for special events and both he & Marnie have been enjoying attending the high school basketball games and cheering the team on to victory.
Larry & Marge are hoping that family concerns will not prevent them from joining us in Burnaby.
Chuck & Inez were there for the first time in a few months. Inez hopes to be dancing in Burnaby.
Norm & Norma told us of a mishap with their rig. They have a new storage shed and apparently it was wired incorrectly. When the RV was plugged in for the first time there were lots of fireworks. Luckily no one was hurt and the electrician will return to correct things. We hope there was no damage to their RV.
Beth invited us to choose some of her lovely crocheted items to be used as a door prize in Burnaby. We thank her for her generosity. The Golden Corral has provided a door prize as well and we thank them also.
During the luncheon Ken reminded the group that we do not as yet have a second vice president. Everyone is asked to see if they can think of someone who would be willing to fill this important post.
Here in the beautiful Northwest the flowers are beginning to bloom and we are all welcoming spring. We hope everyone had a blessed and happy Easter season and we wish everyone safe travels in the coming months.
See you in Burnaby!!!
Hugs
Carolyn
