After the Fall Rally, I got really busy with dues collections and missed the last newsletter so I will attempt to catch up. I received a note from Lois Dowdie expressing regret that they could not attend the Fall Rally due to illness.  We all hope that Lois & Charles are back in swing again and we will look forward to seeing them at the Spring Rally in Gulf Shores. Also had a note from Marie Glenn enclosing Carey Ivy’s thank you for inviting the “Sunbeams” (Carey and Billie Sylvester) to provide entertainment at our Fall Rally.

We all need to thank Sam & Ginny Whitaker for their work in arranging the Christmas party at Redstone Arsenal. Attendance was good again this year with 33 members present. Marie & Tracy Glenn did an outstanding job of organizing and running the prize portion of this event.

Membership for 2008 now stands at 26 members and 2 associate members. We have 4 members who have paid unit dues but international dues. Please correct this as soon as possible.

The Spring Rally will be held at Gulf Shores Luxury RV Park April 10-13 and it would be a good idea to go ahead and make reservations now.

Since I have not recently received news to relay to you, this is all for this time. Enjoy the cold weather and join me in wishing for warm weather.

Now that we have recovered from the holidays and made resolutions for the New Year, make sure that one of these resolutions includes sending your unit dues to the AZ unit Treasurer.

In the Activities section of The Fleetwood Flyer you will find an announcement regarding the Arizona Unit spring rally. This rally incorporates four days of exploring the wonders of the Sedona area. You will see cliff dwellings, early mining in Arizona, and the area where the early Arizona Natives lived. This will be a fantastic tour and one you do not want to miss. Bring your Golden Age Passport. At the conclusion of this four day rally we will begin a “Roving Rally” to the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia Missouri.

For those Unit members and Associates that have not yet remitted you 2008 dues please send in your remittance.

The Unit luncheons have resumed, however, as of this writing I have heard nothing from my various moles. By the next issue I will have a report for the newsletter.

Send me any news item as it is lonely here and I need information of your travels. For those “Hams”, check into the Echo link net on Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7 pm Mountain Standard time,

December Critter Report:

The other day while attending to the barbecue I was surprised to see a Bob Cat just strolling past me, this cat was not concerned by my presence, however, I was a bit taken back as I was not prepared for a visitor. Most of our bird life has departed for warmer climes. Still no signs of Nick the Stick.

The New Year has begun. Unbelievable!! We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year celebration. The Fleetwood Travelcade Club members and buddies had a very enjoyable Christmas dinner at Ryan’s in Conway. There were 20 people in attendance.

The Horseys, Keeters and buddies, the Helms, Boatrights and Highs had a 4 day campout at Toad Suck Corp Park in Conway. The weather was actually very nice for this time of year.

The Arkansas Spring Rally will be in Hot Springs, Arkansas in early April. The actual dates have not been confirmed yet but it will be before the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri. The OK Unit is planning to join us in Hot Springs. More about the rally in the next Newsletter.

That’s all the news we have at this time.

The Inland Empire was well attended at the January luncheon with 12 of us in attendance. We had such a good time visiting that we all decided that we want to get together for campout and are planning on a weekend in Palm Springs the first weekend in April. Details will be coming soon and everyone is invited if they want to come. Those attending the luncheon were Bud & Dorothy Ansevics, Larry & Karen Baker, Jim & Carol Davis, Joe & Joyce Dean, Floyd & Gale Hubert. We were also thrilled to have our incoming International President and new CA members, Harvey & Mary Plunkett, join us from Yuma, AZ.

Mike & Kathy Sexton went to Acapulco for a golf trip the second week in January. Sounds like a wonderful place to be this time of year.

We hope to see some CA people in Missouri in April for the Winter Rendezvous.

The Florida Unit held their first 2008 luncheon at Golden Corral in Lakeland on January 8th. We had 28 folks there, which is better that last month.

The Codys have stayed busy on the golf course and say they will not be able to attend the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri. The Blanchets flew to Massachusetts for Christmas; The Porters went to Oklahoma to visit relatives; The Dumbletons are cruising to western Caribbean (or maybe they just came back); The Bradfords were in Ann Arbor, Michigan for Christmas; Loretta Fleming spent Christmas in Clarksville, Tennessee and it was the first Christmas with her daughter in 22 years; The Loziers stayed in Polk City for the holidays.

The Bergs have been remodeling their house and are rewarding themselves by leaving the home in two weeks and going on a cruise though the Panama Canal to San Diego. John Gilbert keeps busy driving a DAV van to take Vets to the VA hospital in Gainesville.

We were very lucky to have Orin & Thelma Morris, # 371 and Tom & Selma Carraway, # 9774 stop in and visit with us. The Morrises have been dues paying members for 40+ years. We will see most folks at Lazydays and the next luncheon in February.

Now that the holiday season is over, we hope your New Year is off to a good start!

Unfortunately for the second year in the row, our Christmas Party was iced out. We missed having the opportunity to get together with all of our Fleetwood Friends.

The Travels that we know about are: The Ross’s and Davises are in Arizona, and the following couples are in south Texas: Beasley, Collins, Dennis, Harkers, Peters, Russells, Spencers and Wagner’s. The Wells and the Weithorns are in Florida. Jean & Norma Davis have a new email address: jenoda28@netzero.net

Our spring and summer plans are underway. The Spring Buddy Rally will be May 13-15 at New Salem State Park. Further details will be sent to you by mail shortly. Also look for more info on the website.

Our Summer Unit meeting will be held again this year in conjunction with the West Central Roundup June 2-5 at the J&J Campground in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Our summer Buddy Rally is still in the planning stages for some time around the first of August.

Our membership has dropped but we expected that. We will be contacting everyone in the next couple of weeks to remind members if they have not paid their state dues and will send out an updated list with addresses and phone numbers.

We look forward to good fellowship with all the members of the Illinois Unit this summer.

Vic & Maryln Kerlin stayed with two of their grandsons in Ohio in early December while the grandsons' parents attended a professional conference. They then were fortunate to have most of their family at their home in Indianapolis over the Christmas and New Year Holidays. Both of these were very happy times.

The Fall Roundup is scheduled for August 19- 24 in Elkhart. More info at a later date.

More than 20 members and guests of the Kentucky Unit of Fleetwood Travelcade Club gathered at the Georgetown Conference Center in Georgetown, KY for the annual Christmas Party on December 1, 2007. Social time at 1:00 PM was followed by a catered dinner of beef or chicken. After a choice of delectable desserts and warm conversation attendees introduced themselves and shared their favorite part about Christmas. Most agreed that time with family was the best. Special guests included Dorothy Rison, a former member, Tab & Pam Appel, son and daughter-in-law of Jim and Jackie Alls and David & Cheryl Peavler, nephew of Russell & Barb Peavler and new members. Members forwent a business meeting for some time for fun and games. The members played the Right and Left game for door prizes. As a Christmas story about the Wright Family was read, members passed a wrapped gift to the right or left each time the words “right, left, or Wright” were read. Persons holding a gift at the end of the story were winners of the prize. Then a Yankee Swap gift exchange was held. The group has to agree that women are the more aggressive swappers! Good-byes were said and all wished for safe travels as we eagerly anticipate meeting again for the Spring Rally.

The rally will be at the Glendale Campground in Elizabethtown, KY Mary 15-18 and coincides with the annual Glendale Spring Fest which includes craft booths, car show, music and food. Other activities being planned include taking in the Lincoln Jamboree, the Swopes Car museum, Makers Mark Distillery, the Railway Museum, potluck gatherings and much more. Individuals will need to make their own reservations at the campground by calling (270) 369-7755. Rally registration forms will be available in late March or early April.

Plans are also being made for the Fall Rally to be held at Kenton County Fairgrounds in Independence, KY September 11-14. More information to follow.

It is the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008, a year that has many good things to remember. It is good for families to look back and note the positive things that have happened in the past year. Can you do this and see the many things which you should be thankful?

Our Michigan group had fun times last year at the outings and hope for the same this coming year. Let’s hope though that more members are able to participate. Dates to mark on your 2008 calendar are:

Winter Rendezvous April 22 -28, 2008 at Boone County Fairgrounds, Columbia, Missouri.  Reservations are needed by March 19, 2008

Spring Buddy Rally May 11-16, 2008 at Church Campgrounds in St. Louis, MI. Contact Pauline West (248) 701-3006

Summer Rally July 14-19, 2008 at County Fairgrounds in Lowell, Michigan

Fall Rally - Still Pending

Fall Buddy Rally September 28-October 3, 2008 at Church Campgrounds in St. Louis

Some of our members have left to become snowbirds scattering through out the Southern states. Some of the ones who have left which I know of are Brookshires, Brandts, Swanson, Ross’, Wards, Bringards, Bradfords, Peddemors and Mitchells. Mike Green went to Texas and is staying with a friend as he was unable to haul his rig. Also, Florence Titus went to Florida. I guess she decided to leave too. I’m sure there are more but I don’t have any information. I haven’t gotten any information from the western side of the state. I tried doing some emailing but no response.

Our Michigan Unit would like to welcome new members Brad & Judy Harrison #24588 of Interlochen. Let’s hope we meet them in the near future at one of the outings.

Don and I wish you a wonderful New Year and encourage you to think on those things which are most important to you and how you are thankful.

Until next time,

Doris

P.S. Please note that I do have a new e-mail address which is listed above.  Some members are still trying to get me at the old one.

January hit us real hard again in our area. January 2007 it was the ice storm and January 2008 it was the tornadoes. We were lucky and did not have any damage but our neighbors up the road were not as lucky. I have not heard of any of our members that had any damage.

On December 5th the Missouri Unit had a very nice Holiday Luncheon in Rolla, MO. All of our members attended except four units. We all enjoyed the fun, food and fellowship.

Myers spent Thanksgiving in Indianapolis with the families of two of their children. Frenchs enjoyed their daughter and son-in-law for Christmas from Washington State. Lewises spent four days with different ones of their family during Christmas.

On January 10th we had our luncheon in Manchester, MO with Baumhoeggers, Knowltons and Lorenzes present. Several of our members had gone south. Lewises and Frenchs left the first of January for Texas and Teagardens left for Florida. Edgingtons are leaving the middle of January for Texas then on to Alabama. Baumhoeggers are leaving the middle of January for Louisiana and on to Galveston, Texas to go on a cruise.

The Missouri Unit spring meeting will be April 21, 2008 at the rendezvous. We are working very hard and have many exciting things going on for the Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Mo. April 22-28, 2008. Registration is now open so hurry and get your reservations in to Ron & Louise Gossard.

Safe travels and Valentine Hugggggs

By time you read this Ron & I hope to be walking the beaches of Florida. Our part of the country is seeing winter weather with light snow and dropping temperatures, and we are looking forward to warmer weather. However, we went to the Orange Bowl to see the Virginia Tech Hokies play, and it was unbelievably cold in Miami. We will be attending the Lazy Days Rally in Tampa, and we hope it’s warmer there. NC Unit members also attending will be Pam & Bill East, Undine & Willie Lamm, Linda & Alden Segrest, Rex & Peggy Shuping, and Hermann & Marlis Stumps. In addition to warmer weather, we look forward to fellowship with other Fleetwood Travelcade Club members.

Kathy Davis visited two former Avion members, Naomi Greaves and Ruth Hines. She also went to the Biltmore House to see the Christmas decorations. Kevin was in Florida for a few days with a friend.

The NC Unit Spring Rally will be April 10-13, 2008 at the Yogi Bear Campground in Natural Bridge Station, VA. In addition to touring Natural Bridge we will visit historic Lexington. There is a lot to see and do in this area, so I hope our members will mark their calendars now and plan to attend.

I hope those who are staying home for the winter are busy studying maps and making plans to travel this spring. It will be here before you know it.

As this is being written it is 60 degrees outside, the sun is shining, AND the flowers, trees, and shrubs are trying to figure out if it is January or June.

David & Pamela Mapes have put their Florist business up for sale or rent because of health difficulties. David has asthma and the plants/flowers cause him much difficultly. Pamela is being treated for back problems and, thankfully, it seems to be helping. As some of you may remember at the Illinois Rendezvous (Fall 2007) David Mapes made and gave out military plaques to the attending veterans. They were appreciated by everyone who received them. David & Pamela have been very busy! They have sent 14 dozen plaques to our servicemen and women in Iraq, 120 plaques went to the VA Hospital at Wade Park in Cleveland Ohio, and some went to the VA Hospital in Brecksville, Ohio. David & Pamela, we salute you for caring for our service men and women.

June Grable wants to tell everyone that the reservations are confirmed for the Ohio Unit’s Spring Luncheon on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 1:00 PM at the Hometown Buffet in North Canton, Ohio. Hope to see you there.

The Ohio Spring Rally is fast approaching. It will be in Medina, Ohio May 12-17, 2008 at the Medina County Fairgrounds. Don’t forget Ladies – SSS!

Hope everyone is healthy and happy. We look forward to seeing you May 6 at the Spring Luncheon in North Canton, 1:00 PM, Hometown Buffet. Good Times and Good Friends add up to Good Fun.

Safe travels to Everyone,

Much has happened in Oklahoma Fleetwoodland since we last met. It started on the first weekend of December when we gathered for a Christmas campout at Greenleaf State Park near Muskogee. The weather was sunny at times and iffy at times but Ebb kept a campfire going each day and at one point we even sang Christmas carols around the fire. On the Friday evening of the campout we drove into Muskogee for dinner and then drove through the Castle of Muskogee where they have over 1,000 holiday inflatables arranged according to each theme. The good news is that we were able to drive through the area to see such large inflatables but the bad news is that we were able to drive through the area and it all went by too quickly to absorb it all. A great place for children and children at heart.

On Saturday we all gathered to prepare a holiday dinner that included ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and several salads and vegetable dishes. In other words a traditional holiday dinner that was yummy and enjoyed by Bill & Nellie Pennington, John & Mary Lu Ehrle, Jim & Peggy Clubb, John Conley, Wanda Berry and Ebb & Ginny Cox. Later we had a gift exchange and we all did well with our gifts. But one of the nicest gifts was Jim & Peggy Clubb's daughter, Liz, stopped by to join us for an all too brief visit but shared her plans to fly to Paris, France to spend Christmas with her sister and brother-in-law who are now living in Paris. How exciting to spend the holidays there and Liz promised to give us a full report when she returns.

That was the first weekend of December but on the second weekend of December a major ice storm hit parts of Oklahoma and did an enormous amount of power damage and left thousands without electricity and some lost water as well. Even now Tulsa is submerged in tree debris and what can be done with so much brush and tree trunks. The second Monday of the month continues to be our luncheon day but we have had to change the place, for the restaurant that we had gone to for so long has closed, so for the time being, we will meet at Luby's cafeteria at 71st and South Riverside Drive. At our meeting we started talking campouts and it is evident we are all ready for the weather to warm up and the camping season to start. It was a joy to have long time member Mary Jo Carruth join us for the luncheon.

God bless to you all.

Greetings from Sunny Yuma:

We finally traveled south to join our many club friends who winter in Yuma, AZ.

The January Fleetwood luncheon here in Yuma was held at the Fortuna Del Oro Restaurant. Attending from Oregon were: Ed & Carol Fox, Gerald & Linda Lavy, Harvey & Mary Plunkett, (Now CA Unit members), Roland & Marilyn Vorrath and Laverne & Norma Edwards. Friends from Washington were Peg Alastra, Ray & Marlise Hanson, Gene & Marge Hoenig, Phyllis Irvine and Bob & June Little. Russ & Joyce Brower had a conflict of appointments and missed the lunch.

Dick & Carol Eckhart are relaxing on the California coast and are expected to arrive in Yuma in the middle of January. Lee & Peg Bridgeman are in their usual winter spot in Casa Grande, AZ. I have talked with Burdell & Mable Ann Borchardt and they are in Quartzsite, AZ waiting for some repairs to their Motorhome and then will join their many friends here in Yuma. We are also expecting Steve & Beth Bancroft to arrive in Yuma around the first of February.

News from back in Oregon is that the January luncheon there was very small. Wayne & Sarah Gabel and Max & Polly Hohnbaum were the only ones attending. We hope that more can come for the February lunch.

Our OR/WA Christmas Party had to be canceled because of storm damage. We all look forward to our time together at Ocean Shores, WA. This year this beautiful resort where we meet was without electricity. and the roads to get there were closed. Many of us are already looking forward to our Christmas Party 2008.

Thinking of times to look forward to, your officers are already busy planning our Fall Rally together. You will be getting more information later but we want you to know where & when. Mark your calendars for Sept. 17-21 2008. It will be held at the beautiful, almost new facility Hee Hee Illehee R.V.Resort in Salem, Oregon. We are looking forward to meeting you there.

We hope you have a happy fun Valentine's Day and if you have a Birthday or Wedding Anniversary in February we hope that it is a wonderful celebration too!

Until next month, AVION HUGS,

Norma

The Lindsays made it to Florida. We are glad to get away from the cold and are enjoying being with our winter friends in the Melbourne area of Florida. We are enjoying the nice weather, bowling, bingo, potlucks, reading some good books and of course going out to eat! We spoke to the Skrables, as they are here also, plus the Bowers, Dunagans, Turners and many of our other Fleetwood friends.

Sandra & Jack O’Connor sent us a note, telling us that they have made a commitment to their daughter to help take care of the preemie twins for the first year. They hope to be able to attend some of our rallies. Sandra & Jack need everyone’s prayers.

Our address in Melbourne, Florida, just in case someone needs to get in touch with us: Bob & Mae Lindsay Mailbox it, 3682 North Wickham Road, B-l Box 121 Melbourne, Florida 32935 or cell phone (609)468-4109. If you are sending in your 2008 Pennsylvania dues, please mail them to our Florida address.

Don’t forget our Spring Rally-May 14-18 at Mountain Creek Campground Gardners, PA. Wagon masters are the Turners and Bowers are helping them. The Fall Rally is September 3-7 at Sea Pirates Family Camping Resort, West Creek, N.J. Wagon masters are the Skrables. So please mark your 2008 calendars.

Dick & Barbara Sherwood have 40 years in the club. Congratulations for all those years of faithful service.

Peace be with you all and a healthy New Year and Safe Travels.

Rocky Mountain

Greetings from the beautiful snow covered Rocky Mountains. Most of the mountains have above average snow pack, which is wonderful news, but certainly discourages most folks from putting their Fleetwood's into service.

Dick & Laura Thu have their 5th wheel in the San Diego area visiting with their children, and grandchildren, and are watching for a break in the weather to return to their home in the Denver area.

Knute Cotton reports he had a "winter experience" while finishing up his work at the Joplin, Missouri office of the prison ministry where he volunteers in the shipping department. An ice storm arrived causing lots of tree damage with icy tree limbs falling everywhere, many of the limbs narrowly missing his trailer and blocking his exit from the camping area. As he left MO on December 10th, heading through KS, his truck transmission failed and he had to wait along the highway for several hours before Road Service came to his rescue. The transmission was replaced the following day, but Knute had to wait out another bad weather front before he could safely drive on home. He's decided to do his volunteer work during warmer weather, from now on. Joan stayed in CO to help care for her sister-in-law, Jeanette, who is improving and should be able to travel with them to the spring rally. Joan has also been busy doing an extensive remodel job to the inside of their recently purchased 1973 Silver Avion.

Bob & Helen Freer had 20 members of their family celebrate Christmas with them in their CO home. This included the newest member of the family, a little great-grandson born on November 27th. This is their first "great." Congratulations! Bob has had axle problems on his trailer, but hopefully has that taken care of. Having to leave the trailer in WY for several weeks while traveling in the fall has him concerned about future distant traveling. Do hope those concerns are all in the past, now.

Tom Roberts is staying near home this winter in mid CO, awaiting the mail that will contain more checks from Unit members who still need to send him their annual dues. Have you all sent him your $10 dues for 2008?

Harry & Betty Peterson are enjoying the warmth of coastal Florida camping near the home of their daughter and family. They plan to be on the beach watching the shuttle lift off in early February. Days are usually spent at the gym, taking beach walks, or entertaining their grandsons. Could life be any finer?

We hope this finds everyone well, staying warm, and looking forward to a wonderful New Year. We encourage you all to join our Unit at our Wild West Rolling Rally that starts on June 14 in Cody, WY. Look at the web site for all the details. You will need to send a camping deposit in early February so don't delay. Call us if you have any questions.

Hugs to all.

First, I must apologize for not having any news in the December issue of The Fleetwood Flyer. We were not at home when I realized that the date was upon me. Having a new computer which was giving Harry fits was also a contributing factor. If you don't believe me, just ask Tom Johnson, Webmaster, and he will confirm it.

Our Holiday Luncheon is a thing of the past but we want you to know how it went. We had two First-Timer couples with us; Vernon & Paulette Greene and Charles & Dot Williams. We were really happy to meet them and hope they will join us in future activities. The Greenes are still working which makes it difficult to get away but they said they will make an effort to join us. Charles & Dot have attended functions with other Fleetwood owners as they are acquainted with Jim & Billie Barton, who were also in attendance. John Melton was able to be there with his new wife, Johnnie. They were celebrating their two month anniversary. We were glad to meet her and hope they'll be able to continue to attend as John has in the past. Herman & Marlene Murray, Harry & Lee Peel, Claire & Kathy Stewart, Gene & Carole Sansone (former members and now buddies) and Billie Barton's son and his fiancée finished out the group. We had a good lunch (if you went away hungry it was your own fault) at Ryan's in Columbia, SC, and spent some relaxing time sitting and chatting with everyone.

Anne Fletcher had helped me with the arrangements (as they live in Columbia) but unfortunately she & Dan were not there. We missed them and all the rest who couldn't be with us. We had Christmas cards from some of the other members to explain their absence. Ray Murphy went to Elk Rapids, MI for Thanksgiving to visit with his son and family. Bet those twins are really growing. He was having some trouble with the sciatic nerve in his right hip but was able to go to Portland, OR for Christmas to visit his daughter and her family. We have since heard from him that after 36+ years he will not be renewing his membership as he no longer has a trailer/motorhome. We will surely miss you, Ray, but we'll try to keep in touch so that when we are near, we can hopefully get to see you.

Ron & Bobbie Taylor are keeping busy with her church responsibilities and with him delivering Meals on Wheels and working part-time at Hickory Knob State Park as an assistant park ranger. They have done some traveling and visiting with his Mother and aunt as the schedule permits.

Claire & Kathy Stewart were leaving 12/19 for Cedar Rapids, IA to visit with several of their family members. They were to start home 12/26 but we have not heard from them since, so we hope that the bad weather didn't curtail their plans.

Harry & I left on 12/17 for FL and the Masonic Park where we stay most winters. This was the first time in 52 years that we were not with some of our family. I was suffering from bronchitis so was somewhat happy to be where it was a little warmer. Temps have since been down to high 20's but for the most part it has been very pleasant during the day.

The only other news we have is that our Spring Rally at Palmetto Cove, Cleveland, SC will be 5/21 thru 5/24. We will return home mid-March to get the official notice out to you in plenty of time. But for the present, mark your calendars so you can come and enjoy the scenery, fun, food and fellowship with your friends.

Until next time, BE SAFE!!

HEART OF TEXAS NEWS

Our members have been busy since our Christmas dinner. Most people spent time with relatives over the Holidays.

The Drums flew to California to spend Christmas and New Years with their two sons. David drove from El Paso to Ken's with his wife and we had a great time. One of the grandchildren got a Wii and we all had a ball playing it. It’s great for old folks too.

Dave Rouner is our new President and also the second VP for Texas. His mom passed away last Sunday, January 6th. Heartfelt sympathy is sent to him and Sara. Sara is the Secretary for the Motor home group so they will be going to Lazy Days the end of this month.

Our group is going to start meeting at the Oxford house in Bryan for our luncheons this month, in hopes of getting more people to attend.

Happy New Year to all.

It seems as if I was just putting up the decorations and now I am trying to take them back down. Where did the month go??

The Christmas party at Ocean Shores was cancelled because of flooding and power outages in that area. We had wonderful plans for the party and all of it has been put on hold till next Christmas. Hopefully, all will go well then.

Many of the members sent monetary contributions to the area to help with the Christmas toy drive and we thank them for their generosity.

January 7th was the usual luncheon at Marysville. In spite of the forecast for an impending snowfall we had a good turn out. Tom & Marnie Opstad, Norman & Norma Anderson, Harry & Susan Andrews, George & Beth MacKay, Jim & Fran Reed, Larry Raymond and Ken & Carolyn Abramson were in attendance. A lot of our members have already headed south to enjoy a warm dry winter. We miss them and send them our best wishes and lots of Fleetwood hugs. We had a wonderful visit and lots of fun food and fellowship. We learned that Barney Klinger was in hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Things went well for him and I am sure the nurses appreciated his wonderful sense of humor.

Norm & Norma Anderson reported having a wonderful Christmas in their new home and Harry & Susan Andrews had safe travel to Texas and back. Fran Reed was disappointed that she couldn't go on her cruise but she has high hopes for next year.

There was some discussion of the upcoming Winter Rendezvous in Columbia, Missouri. Ken & Carolyn Abramson and Tom & Marnie Opstad plan to attend and it is possible that Norm & Norma Anderson will travel there as well.

People were reminded to pay their International, Unit and Associate dues if they have not yet done so.

Of course there was some hyping of the Washington Spring Rally in Burnaby. We are still hoping there will be "100 Butts in Burnaby". Registration forms, etc will be in the mail next month. People were advised to watch for them and register early as it must be on a first come first serve basis. We only have room for "100 Butts".

There also was discussion of a Fall Rally and its location. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

After lots of hugs and New Years wishes, people headed home with plans to meet next week in Federal Way or in Marysville again in February.

Ken & I want to take this opportunity to wish all of the members a Happy New Year and we wish health, prosperity and safe travels to all.

Carolyn
